Goodbye June was formed in the summer of 2005 by three cousins, Brandon Qualkenbush, Landon Milbourn and Tyler Baker. Tyler’s brother, PFC Shane Baker, had just tragically passed away in a car accident while home on leave. The unexpected loss had undoubtedly shaken this close-knit family to its core. Brandon and Landon then spent a few weeks with Tyler and his family to help ease the sting.
“When Brandon and Landon showed up, I knew that our brother, Shane, was really gone for good,” says Tyler reminiscing about the
day that his cousins came to his family’s house in Southern Indiana. “For the next few weeks, they stayed with me and my family; we talked about old times, laughed and cried over memories and, of course, played music together. Songs formed and before we knew it, we were getting requests to play on the back of semi-trailers, church youth functions, and clubs. Goodbye June came to fruition because we all shared a passion for music and Shane’s death helped us realize that life is short and you never know when you will leave this world.”
